SoleMate began with a simple, stubborn unfairness: millions of people are forced to buy two shoes when they need one, or throw away a perfect shoe because its partner never fit. We are building the marketplace that finally makes single and mismatched footwear effortless, affordable, and dignified.
Where we started
For an amputee, a single-leg wheelchair user, or someone with a limb difference, the shoe shop is quietly hostile. You pay full price for a pair, wear one, and bin the other. For people whose feet are two different sizes — or who wear an AFO brace on one side — even a “normal” pair rarely fits both feet at once.
We thought that was absurd. So we built SoleMate: a place to buy singles, split pairs with someone who needs the opposite foot, and source brace-compatible shoes in the exact two sizes you actually wear. No compromise, no double payment, no waste.
